Product description

The Canadienne grill pan from Klarstein is a round grill plate with a small, 3 cm high, rim. With its two handles and 35 cm diameter, it looks like a frying pan, but it originally belongs to the South American "budare" cookware. You can use it to prepare all typical Mexican dishes such as tortillas, fajita vegetables, arepas, quesadillas and much more. Nuts, spices and coffee beans can also be roasted on the round cast iron pan. Owing to the smooth and flat pan shape, it is also ideal as a universal griddle for searing meat and preparing other dishes, right up to use as a pizza pan.

Absolut top - entspricht genau unseren Erwartungen. Ich habe diese "Pfanne" als Budare zur Herstellung von Arepas (Maisbrötchen) und dafür funkt's ausgezeichnet. Die Arepas werden echt klasse, wie man's aus Venezuela kennt und schmecken auch so. Von mir gibt's klare 5 Sterne!

Absolutely great - exactly what we expected. I have this "pan" as a budare for making arepas (corn buns) and it sparks excellent. The arepas are really great, as you know it from Venezuela and they taste the same. It's a clear 5 stars from me!

Gute Qualität, leider wird die Platte auf meinem gasherd nicht richtig heiß wie gewünscht. Scharfes anbraten ging nicht. Trotz 2 Brenner mit zusammen 4kw Leistung! Leich zu reinigen war sie. Rucknahme von Amazon war problemlos.

Good quality, unfortunately the plate on my gas stove does not get really hot as desired. Searing didn't work. Despite 2 burners with a total of 4kw power! She was easy to clean. Taking it back from Amazon was easy.

Wir hatten zuerst von ToCis Big BBQ die Gusseiserne Bratpfanne 30 cm Durchmesser mit kurzem Griff bestellt, da mein Mann sie für das GBS System gedacht hatte. Leider war die Bratpfanne nicht passend (zu kleiner Durchmesser). Auch ist die Pfanne mit dem kurzem Griff schwer zu bewegen. Jetzt haben wird diese Gusseiserne Grillplatte und sind absolut zufrieden. Die Pfanne ist außen, wie innen ein bisschen rau, aber für den Kugelgrill ist sie perfekt. Sie passt fast genau (die Platte ist etwas größer) ins GBS System. Auf unseren Induktionsherd kommt sie in Zukunft nicht mehr, nur mehr auf dem Kugelgrill. Gemüse braten geht super, aber auch Fleisch. Man muss sie nur ordentlich (zB im Backrohr aber auch auf dem Grill) vorheizen.

We first ordered the cast-iron frying pan with a diameter of 30 cm and a short handle from ToCis Big BBQ because my husband had intended it for the GBS system. Unfortunately, the frying pan did not fit (diameter too small). Also, the pan is difficult to move with the short handle. We now have this cast iron griddle and are absolutely satisfied. The pan is a bit rough on the outside and on the inside, but it's perfect for the kettle grill. It fits almost exactly (the plate is slightly larger) in the GBS system. In the future, it will no longer be used on our induction cooker, only on the kettle grill. Frying vegetables is great, but so is meat. You just have to preheat them properly (e.g. in the oven but also on the grill).

Die Lieferung der Grillplatte verlief sehr schnell. Die Verpackung war ausreichend mit einer Folie eingeoa mit und einem Karton als Umverpackung. Habe das Parosukt direkt ausprobiert und befand das Ergebnis als sehr gut. Das schönenist hierbei, dass man auf einem Gasgrill fettiges oder ölige Fleisch grillen kann, ohne dass sich Flammen bilden. Das Fett wird auch direkt auf der Platte aufgefangen. Die Verarbeitung der Platte befand ich auch als sehr gut. Der Artikel ist auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen. Super Preis-Leistungsverhältnis

The delivery of the grill plate was very fast. The packaging was sufficient with a foil and a box as outer packaging. I tried the Parosukt directly and found the result to be very good. The nice thing about this is that you can grill greasy or oily meat on a gas grill without flames forming. The fat is also caught directly on the plate. I also found the processing of the record to be very good. The article is definitely recommended. Great value for money

Geht auch für Induktion. Ich benutze sie um Tortillas zu machen. Sie hat sich gleich verzogen, aber das tut der Benutzung keinen Abbruch. Man muss sie halt richtig behandeln. Das heißt, abkühlen lassen, nicht einweichen, sondern abwaschen und gleich trocknen anschließend einölen, dann rostet auch nix. Beschichtung kann sich nicht ablösen (wie einige schreiben), da sie nicht beschichtet ist...Angebranntes kann man nach dem abkühlen leicht abschaben.

Also works for induction. I use them to make tortillas. It warped right away, but that doesn't detract from its use. You just have to treat them right. That means, let it cool down, don't soak it, but wash it off and dry it immediately, then oil it, then nothing will rust. Coating cannot peel off (as some write) because it is not coated... Burnt parts can be easily scraped off after cooling.

Schwere und sehr Formstabile Platte, hält sehr lange die Wärme, Reinigung nicht in der Spülmaschine lieber per Hand. Gibt sehr viele Infos darüber wie was gereinigt werden kann. Ich nehme nur heißes Wasser und dann Salz rein….einwirken lassen und mit einer Bürste säubern…nach Bedarf wiederholen. Einen Lappen (den benutze ich nur für Gusseiserne Sachen, wenn man ein Geschirrhandtuch benutzt weiß man warum) dann leicht mit Öl einreiben und wieder wegstellen bis zum nächsten gebrauch (vorher dann aber kurz ausreiben). Würde die Platte jederzeit wieder kaufen. Klare Kaufempfehlung

Heavy and very dimensionally stable plate, keeps the heat for a very long time, cleaning by hand is not recommended in the dishwasher. Gives a lot of information about what can be cleaned. I just take hot water and then salt in...leave to soak and clean with a brush...repeat as needed. Then rub a rag (which I only use for cast-iron things, if you use a tea towel you know why) with oil and put it away until the next use (but rub it out briefly beforehand). Would buy the record again at any time. Clear purchase recommendation

Hab das Teil zu meinem Trichtergrill dazubestellt. Hab das teil, wie in einschlägigen Foren beschrieben, eingebrannt. Seither hab ich 2 mal, jeweils auf der glatten Seite, Gemüse gebraten (Süßkartoffelscheiben, Plantain, Zucchini). Passt gut. Lässt sich leicht wieder von der Platte lösen. Die Platte ist den Preis entsprechend "einfach". Nicht 100% gerade/glatt. Das macht aber mMn nichts. Ich werd ev. noch die Griffe runterflexen. Die verschwenden nur platz.

I ordered the part for my funnel grill. Have the part, as described in relevant forums, burned. Since then I've fried vegetables twice, each time on the smooth side (sweet potato slices, plantain, zucchini). Fits well. Can be easily detached from the plate again. The plate is "simple" according to the price. Not 100% straight/smooth. But that doesn't matter mmn. I'll probably flex down the handles. They just waste space.

Steakplatte entspricht meinen Vorstellungen. Nur 4 Sterne, weil keine Haftbeschichtung und somit erschwerte ( bzw. übliche ) Reinigung. Als Tip zur erheblichen Verbesserung der Grillqualität sind einmal ein Grillthermometer, welches über eine 6mm Bohrung am Rande der Platte eingesteckt werden kann. Somit läßt sich stets die Wärme genau regulieren. Eine weitere Verbesserung ergibt ein Deckel über dem Grillgut. Ich benutze dazu ein Backblech der Größe 22X28X4 cm aus einem Elektrobackofen. Darin eingeschraubt ein Grillthermometer ergibt einen perfekten Mini-Gasgrill, der sich gassparend, geruchsarm und erheblich sauberer betreiben läßt. Viel Erfolg und Spass beim Nachbau.

Steak plate meets my expectations. Only 4 stars because no adhesive coating and therefore difficult (or usual) cleaning. A tip for significantly improving the quality of the grill is a grill thermometer, which can be inserted through a 6mm hole on the edge of the plate. This means that the heat can always be precisely regulated. Another improvement is a lid over the grilled food. I use a 22X28X4 cm baking tray from an electric oven. A grill thermometer screwed into it results in a perfect mini gas grill, which can be operated in a gas-saving, low-odour and considerably cleaner manner. Good luck and have fun with the replica.

Nach dem Auspacken viel sofort auf das die Platte total gewölbt war. Ich war drauf und dran das erste Mal etwas bei Amazon zurück zu schicken. Aber meine Faulheit und kein Bock auf Umtauscherei ließ mich die Platte behalten. Beim Probeliegen merkte ich das ich sie bei der Länge nur quer reinlegen kann weil sie durch die beiden Griffe lang ist. Andersrum geht der Deckel des Grills nicht zu. Wenn ich schon ein harter Kerl bin dann kann ich dieser von einem kleinen Chinesen gedengelten ehemaligen Bahnschwelle mit einer Flex beikommen :-) also auch für die Mädchen unter euch....wenn ihr die Platte nicht wie ein Handtäschen durch die Shoppingmeile schleppen wollt..... Weg mit den Griffen. Flex angesetzt und jede Seite ist in 2 Minuten weg. Ja....an neuen Sachen macht man nicht mit einer Flex rum....wenn ihr Angst habt das Mutti was entdecken könnte...nach dem Einbrennen sind die Flexstellen kaum noch zu sehen.....vorausgesetzt ihr seid keine totalen Grobmotoriker mit der Flex. EINBRENNEN!!!!! Sehr wichtig! Spätestens nach dem ersten Auflegen auf den Grill werdet ihr euch an meine Rezension erinnern :-) Die Bahnschwelle fängt an wie eine 100 jährige alte Dampfmaschine aus China zu riechen/ stinken/ müffeln..... Also. Erstmal heiß abwaschen und mit einer Bürste abrubbeln. So verschwinden die groben Produktionsrückstände. Dann die Bahnschwelle auf den Grill und heiß machen. Schön Sonnenblumenöl drauf und mit einem Pinsel verstreichen. Dazu ordentlich Salz und Kartoffelschalen und Scheiben drauf. Gleichmäßig alles immer mal verteilen und richtig verbrennen/ einbrennen lassen. Das auf beiden Seiten machen. Dachte auch erst eine Seite reicht weil die Andere ja alles verbrannt hat. Also umdrehen und heiß machen und es stinkt nach einer alten Dampflok. Ach und für die die Angst haben das sie bei Mutti stramm stehen müssen wegen der angeflexten Griffe..... Das sieht man jetzt nicht mehr..... Ab jetzt die Platte nur noch mit lauwarmen Wasser und einer Bürste reinigen sonst fängt sie an zu rosten. Ich öle sie hinterher immer ein.

After unpacking, I immediately noticed that the plate was totally curved. I was about to return something to Amazon for the first time. But my laziness and not feeling like exchanging let me keep the record. When trying it out I noticed that I can only put it across because it is long due to the two handles. The other way around, the lid of the grill does not close. If I'm already a tough guy, then I can get to grips with this former railway sleeper, which was hammered by a little Chinese, with a flex :-) So also for the girls among you....if you don't want to carry the plate through the shopping mile like a handbag. .... Away with the handles. Flex on and each side is gone in 2 minutes. Yes....you don't mess around with new things with a flex....if you're afraid that mom might discover something...after the burn-in, the flex spots are hardly visible...assuming you aren't total gross motor skills with the Flex. BRANDING!!!!! Very important! You will remember my review at the latest after you put it on the grill for the first time :-) The railway sleeper starts to smell/ stink/ smelt like a 100-year-old steam engine from China..... So. First wash off with hot water and rub off with a brush. This is how the gross production residues disappear. Then put the sleeper on the grill and heat it up. Nice sunflower oil on it and spread with a brush. Add plenty of salt and potato peelings and slices on top. Distribute everything evenly and burn properly / allow to burn in. Do that on both sides. Thought only one side was enough because the other one burned everything. So turn around and heat it up and it stinks like an old steam train. Oh, and for those who are afraid that they will have to stand at attention at Mom's because of the flexed handles..... You can't see that anymore..... From now on, only clean the plate with lukewarm water and a brush, otherwise it will catch to rust. I always oil them afterwards.

Wenn man mal in Betracht zieht, dass Gusseisen kein High-Tech Werkstoff ist, dann sind viele der hier angebotenen Gusseisenprodukte ganz schön überteuert. Diese Grillplatte dagegen hat einen fairen Preis und tut was sie soll. Bei mir ersetzt sie die scheußlichen Alugrillschalen, für alles was auf dem Grill rumtropft oder eine glatte Pfanne verlangt. Das Grillergebnis ist hiermit viel besser und die Umwelt freut sich auch. Auch wenn die Grillplatte schon seasoned ist, habe ich sie lieber einmal abgewaschen und danach einmal ordentlich mit Rapsöl eingebrannt. (Einfach mal "Gusseisen einbrennen" googeln für eine Anleitung.) Durch das Einbrennen bildet sich eine natürliche Antihaftbeschichtung auf dem Gusseisen, die dieses außerdem vor Rost schützt: die sogenannte Patina. Danach darf die Grillplatte nicht mehr mit Spüli gereinigt werden, weil die Patina sonst wieder abgespült würde. Einfach nur noch mit warmen Wasser und Bürste abschrubben und danach wieder leicht einölen. Ich gebe zu dieses Prozedere ist ein bißchen aufwendig. Deshalb sollte man wissen, worauf man sich einlässt, wenn man mit dem Gedanken spielt, sich gusseisernes Kochgeschirr zuzulegen. Mir macht's gerade deshalb Spaß, weil es so schön archaisch ist.

When you consider that cast iron is not a high-tech material, many of the cast iron products offered here are quite overpriced. This grill plate, on the other hand, has a fair price and does what it is supposed to do. For me it replaces the horrible aluminum grill trays for everything that drips on the grill or requires a smooth pan. The grilling result is much better and the environment is happy too. Even if the grill plate is already seasoned, I preferred to wash it off and then burn it properly with rapeseed oil. (Just google “seasoning cast iron” for instructions.) Seasoning forms a natural non-stick coating on the cast iron, which also protects it from rust: the so-called patina. After that, the grill plate must not be cleaned with washing-up liquid, otherwise the patina would be washed off again. Simply scrub with warm water and a brush and then oil it again lightly. I admit this procedure is a bit complicated. That's why you should know what you're getting into when you're toying with the idea of buying cast-iron cookware. It's fun for me precisely because it's so beautifully archaic.
