Dachte ich mir was soll schon schief gehen. Super Teil.

I bought this one because of its size. I have experience with the smaller Brewzillas, but the large one was simply too expensive for me, and knowing that all you really need to brew beer is a large pot to boil the wort in, I figured what could possibly go wrong. I'm happy with it. You should be careful not to stir too much, otherwise the fine particles will pass through the siphon, settle on the heating element, and potentially trigger the overheating shot. If you keep that in mind, it's a great piece of equipment.

Delighted, it could use a filter on the beer recirculation intake. Very good purchase.

I originally wanted to buy the VEVOR brewing unit. However, it supposedly wasn't deliverable to my address; I live in the countryside with no water nearby, and all my other deliveries arrive just fine. Despite several calls, Amazon couldn't resolve the issue, so I ordered this device as an alternative. It's very well made, and there's really no reason to return it. However, VEVOR offers their "Electric Brewing System" on their website, the same one Amazon is trying to sell. But for ten euros less, it comes with a large hop filter and a pipe chiller. I examined both devices and they use the same components. Therefore, I don't see why I should throw away almost €100 for a pipe chiller and hop filter under the beautiful "KLARSTEIN" name. It's a shame; Amazon could have earned that money.

I've already used it to make two different types of beer, and honestly, thanks to this pot, brewing beer is so easy. Let's hope the pot is high quality and lasts for many years, because otherwise, I'm extremely happy!

Foreword: I'm reviewing a specific device, not a brewing method, so let's ignore which system is better and focus on the device itself. I've been curious about an all-in-one system for a long time, and since I couldn't afford the more expensive, yet well-regarded, products, I searched for the best possible, affordable solution. It's a generic "Chinese pot," rebranded by various manufacturers, such as Brew Monk, Easy Grain, and so on. I don't know if Klarstein simply rebranded this product or made some modifications, but the one I received is certainly superior in quality to others in the same price range. Before purchasing it, I was aware of some issues that I didn't encounter, which is indicative of a higher-quality product than others. Some people criticized the material, calling it a sheet of metal that bends just by looking at it: this isn't true; the stainless steel used throughout the system is of good quality and not as thin as some say. No one has ever measured the thickness to make a comparison, but it's anything but a thin sheet of metal. They say the discs that make up the filter element are "badly cut" at the edges, while my experience has been that two discs with excellent sealing have left almost no sediment on the bottom when filtering the grain, giving me extremely clean must. The mini bazooka filter did its job, and I only transferred wort to the fermenter. The graduations (liters and gallons) start at 10 liters, not 15 like other systems. The instruction manual is also in Italian, unlike other manufacturers, so well done Klarstein! The wort recirculation pump tube is curved correctly and fits perfectly into the hole in the lid, which closes without problems. I knew of other products where the pump tube was crooked, but similarly, the external stainless steel recirculation pump is welded straight and cleanly. The maximum power is 2,500 W, more than enough to bring the wort to a boil really quickly (I come from a stove and gas cylinder, so I know something about this). I use 2,200 W for mashing and 2,500 W for boiling. The integrated controller is a new model; To be clear, the old one has the two ears of corn design on the sides. Very easy to use and very intuitive, with 9 mashing steps, enough for the most demanding brews with acid and protein rest if you want to use the automatic mode. For the first time, I used the manual settings step by step to get familiar with the machine. The tap with the bazooka filter draws almost to the bottom, leaving very little "dead space." Just keep an eye on the evaporation rate during the boil, the only parameter on which to gradually adjust the draft for subsequent brews. In my case, from the 27 liters pre-boil, 21 of the 23 planned ended up in the fermenter. In short, I was happy to have found a system that is probably improved compared to older versions, with materials and, above all, better care in assembly than in the past. Carefully follow the cleaning instructions both before and after the brew; I recommend starting cleaning the filter discs and various components already during the wort cooling phase, because if the malt residues dry out, cleaning becomes more difficult. A special mention goes to the excellent packaging and the skill of the seller, who resolved an issue I had during checkout due to a mistake I made when selecting the payment method. I recommend this purchase to anyone with some experience who wants to try brewing with the all-grain method without using the traditional three-pot system or a traditional gas stove.

I'm reviewing the large 50L version here and have already successfully brewed several batches. First off: I've been a homebrewer for about two years and started out with a classic mulled wine kettle. I then looked for something more convenient and am (currently) quite happy with this unit. The 50L does NOT refer to the output volume (like with Speidel, for example)! A total of 50L fits IN the unit, but that's it. Boiling hops is practically impossible without making a huge mess. But let's take it step by step. Recipe programming: The control unit is a complete mess to use! The thing forgets everything as soon as the power goes out, and the menu navigation looks like it was designed by an intern. It's incredibly complicated and slow when creating a recipe. The instruction manual doesn't even cover all the functions of the control unit. This definitely has the potential to be frustrating. However, if you struggle through it two or three times, you can manage and eventually get it working. Since I only brew beer every six weeks at most, I can live with sacrificing a little time and patience. Mashing in & Resting: Insert the mash basket (empty) and add water, then start the recipe. As soon as the initial temperature is reached, the program pauses and only continues when you click the next button. This is great because you still have to mash in manually. The malt should be very coarsely ground (like with the Braumeister Speidel), otherwise the water won't flow through and will simply run into the overflow pipe at the top and be sucked away by the pump at the bottom without ever touching the malt. After mashing in comes the part I bought this machine for: automatic execution of the resting stages! It works perfectly! The countdown only starts once the temperature is reached, and the initial mashing time can be adjusted. Mission accomplished :-) Lautering & Sparging: After resting comes lautering. For this, the inner malt basket must be pulled upwards and placed on the soldered feet on the edge of the outer kettle. Herein lies the major drawback of this 50L unit: This malt basket is filled with approximately 12 kg of malt, which is saturated with water. This results in a weight of around 40 kg that has to be moved vertically. There are NO intermediate feet to allow the mass to set down halfway. The entire mass is at about 80°C at this point and steaming towards you! This can lead to extremely dangerous situations. Definitely order leather welding gloves at the same time (not grilling gloves, they can't withstand the steam). The subsequent sparging must be done virtually blindly, as you don't know how many liters are still in the kettle or how much more can be added. You have to calculate it beforehand, but don't forget that the malt also retains water that will be missing in the wort later. Hop boiling & whirlpool: Thanks to the 3000W, boiling is no problem, and it can be boiled at a good, rolling boil. Great! Note: Boil without the lid and DO NOT let the pump circulate. I would have liked a larger diameter for the whirlpool process; that would be nice. Nice to have... Cleaning: Due to the external pipe, it's not so easy. If the pipe gets badly clogged, you'll obviously have a problem. Otherwise, the unit is easy to clean. Conclusion: For me, this is a device that certainly has its weaknesses (especially the control unit and lautering), but it also greatly simplifies the brewing process. If you compare this device to the top-of-the-line model (Speidel Braumeister 50L) in this category, you simply have to say: For a fraction of the price of the Primus, you get excellent value for money. If you don't mind the extra cost, you should go straight for the Primus. I'm satisfied with this device.

Initially, I only wanted to buy a preserving pot, a lauter tun with a sieve, and a thermometer, but given the relatively low price, I decided to spend a few euros more and buy this Klarstein brewing system. All the parts are made of stainless steel, are well-made and sturdy, and are very easy to clean. The instructions are easy to understand. Setting the brewing programs is quite intuitive. The thermometer measures to an accuracy of 0.1°C.
