These three keywords would be the easiest way to characterize the NUMAN Two, and some things would still be left unconsidered. In my personal opinion, it is a full-size player, which should be particularly interesting for all those who already have relevant experience with multifunctional players. For people who only want to use DAB, I find the NUMAN Two a bit too ambitious, as the possibilities are very broad. I'll try to describe the device in a more manageable way using the most common parameters. The scope of delivery: In addition to the NUMAN Two, the scope of delivery also includes a telescopic antenna, a (replaceable) mains cable, a remote control and a user manual in German and English. Look/haptics: In my opinion, the device is an absolute feast for the eyes, the wooden cover and the no-frills design appealed to me directly. The very easy to read (even from the side) TFT display of 2.8 inches on the front, which provides information on the station, title, etc., as well as the easy-to-read and pressure-sensitive keypad with scroll wheel function on the upper edge of the housing, which enables "browsing " within the menu without FB. Commissioning: I was able to do this within about 15 minutes (including connecting my Android smartphone) without any problems. After connecting to the mains plug, I carried out the software update and the integration into the home network via LAN cable. Experience has shown that this is a little quicker at home than the setup via W-LAN, which is also offered in the setup menu. To set up the DAB or DAB + transmitter, you simply need to run the automatic search on the device. I immediately noticed the possibility of setting DRC (audio dynamic compression). When listening to some DAB stations, this enables the volume range of the audio playback to be balanced in such a way that a consistently "harmonized" sound image is generated. For the integration into the WLAN, which as already mentioned is also possible, you only need the WLAN key at hand and enter the key using the remote control, the system then connects automatically. Time setting and date etc. are transmitted via the network and are immediately available. Possible uses: These are indeed "all-encompassing", I personally don't know of any device at the moment that combines such a wide range of playback and feed options in one. The following should be mentioned here: Radio operation: - playback operation via FM with excellent reception - playback operation via DAB and DAB + - Internet radio playback/playback operation: - playback via Bluetooth from smartphone/tablet (requires the "UNDOK" app from Google Play Store or iTunes Store) - Music streaming under Win7, here using Windows Mediaplayer (the PC serves as a remote control and player on the NUMAN Two) - Playback using Spotify Connect (requires an existing Spotify account. If this is the case, you can use a smartphone, PC, tablet etc. the service can be used on the radio) -Playback with integration into the home network -Playback via USB stick -Playback via CD, the following formats can be used here (audio CD, MP3, WMA, CD-R and CD-RW) - Playback via AUX (ipod, MP 3 player, etc.) Sound: In my opinion, the tonal range of such devices is an absolutely decisive reason to buy and should definitely be taken into account here. The NUMAN Two has an integrated equalizer function with which the radio can either be adjusted tonally Parameters such as style (pop, rock, jazz, film music, news, normal, etc.) or your very own acoustic preferences can be set. In my opinion, the device delivers what I consider to be absolutely excellent playback, both in background operation and under full load. Both the powerful bass, the built-in mids and highs make sound lovers sit up and take notice with a probability bordering on certainty. In addition to the playback options already mentioned, the device also has an alarm clock function (2 times that can be set in parallel) and a sleep timer function. Class housing processing Extremely wide connectivity spectrum Very easy to read TFT display Very good median, bass and treble User-friendly interface Possibility of DRC in DAB or DAB+ mode Another praiseworthy word about the manual supplied: I have often complained about the misleading descriptions and cumbersome formulations within annoyed many a "hands on". The manual supplied here makes dbzgl. does everything right by providing clear recommendations for action and instructions for optimal operation for laypersons and advanced users alike. No unnecessary clauses and incomprehensible dictations. Big compliments from my side! My conclusion: I'll lean out the window and claim that I haven't had a similarly compact one yet; starting with the processing up to the fine adjustments of the playback got to know high-quality DAB radio. I'm actually a self-confessed ROBERTS RADIO UK fan, but I have to say here that the NUMAN series is at least on a par with, if not even with the NUMAN Two, at the top of the playback devices. *Another important note at the end: The NUMAN Two was given to me free of charge by the supplier for the purpose of testing and writing a product evaluation here on Amazon. All statements and findings made are based on my own findings with the device which I was able to make within the last 7 days*
