PREMESSA:
APPROFONDIMENTO SCIENTIFICO:
FUNZIONAMENTO:
INTRODUCTION: I always review by comparing the quality of the product to the cost, and here I will do the same. To explain that 5 stars does not mean the TOP on the market, but rather an excellent product compared to what it costs. It is therefore important to specify the selling price at the time of my review: €84.99 + €5.99 shipping on 01/21/2016. PROS: - purifies the air (so it says, but beyond my sensation I have no further data to guarantee how much it purifies) - remote control (very convenient if you leave it in an inaccessible place) - reduced consumption less than 40W maximum CONS: - always noisy plus as the fan speed increases, only at idle is it almost silent - price, considering that on the well-known online auction site today it costs a good €27 less at auction or €25 less with a buy it now from the same seller. DESCRIPTION: Similar to an electric heater or a fan, in black plastic with air intake holes on the front to create an elliptical design that gives some movement to the design of the front. On the upper part, the LCD display backlit in blue when the keys are pressed, and the ionized air outlet in the upper left part. The front panel is removable to allow cleaning or replacement of the filter consisting of pre-filter, HEPA filter, cold catalyst filter and carbon filter. SCIENTIFIC IN-DEPTH: WHY IONIZER? WHAT DOES IT MEAN? WHAT PURPOSE DOES IT SERVE? "An ion is an atom to which one or more electrons have been removed or added. In the second case, we have a negative ion. When we speak of ions in relation to air, in particular, we are referring to negative oxygen ions. Because the sun's ultraviolet rays and lightning ionize the oxygen atoms, the open air contains a quantity of negative ions that varies between one thousand and 4 thousand per cubic centimeter. The ionizer itself is an electric circuit that brings the atoms of the atmosphere into contact with a very high voltage (about 10-15 thousand volts). The air that comes out of the ionizer is therefore rich in ions. Ionizing the air in a room helps to make it cleaner: the negative ions, in fact, bind to the particles suspended in the air (dust, aromas, smoke, pollen and bacteria) and charge them electrostatically. As a result, the dust will tend to bind to the surfaces it encounters (the walls of the room, for example) instead of flying around. In theory, allergic people should feel a distinct benefit from using an ionizer, but not all research agrees." Focus 28 June 2002 In other words, negative ions will come out of the ionizer and will flutter around the room clinging to dust mites, pollen and other suspended particles, making them fall and consequently making the air freer from impurities, purer! OPERATION: Connect the plug and press the ON/OFF button to turn it on. From now on it is running with the fan at minimum, by pressing SPEED you can change the 3 speeds, but the noise of the fan will also significantly increase. The faster the fan turns, the greater the exchange of air in the room will be, this is the only variation in operation that you will have, therefore it is recommended to leave it on at minimum for many hours to get the best results also in terms of acoustic comfort, because at minimum speed the noise is not that annoying, little more than a computer fan. At best it becomes more like the noise of a fan, and the hum might be annoying. With the ANION key, in addition to the ionizer, filtering via the HEPA filter is activated (a particular certified filter so as not to weigh down the review if you want to learn more, search for the Hepa filter on Wikipedia) indicated to block pollen dust and particles up to 0.3 µm already in suction. Since the filter is washable and usable for a year, I recommend leaving this option always active, for the sake of simplicity
