This cheese board, including its four cheese knives and two cocktail forks, looks exactly like the product images. Nothing has been embellished in the photos. The weight of the board is outstanding. You don't just carry that from A to B with one hand, you need both hands for that. The board is super solid and stable. There's also no jerking or slipping when slicing or slicing cheese on it. Bamboo always smells a bit at first. This is perfectly normal and the scent will fade over time. We are big fans of bamboo, have various bamboo boards and bamboo bowls, so we now know how things work when it comes to the smell. The cheese board is absolutely clean, i.e. processed flat. You don't get a splinter in your finger when you run it over the board. Bamboo should never be put in the dishwasher, it is washed by hand. Then let it dry thoroughly before using it again. Once a month you should rub bamboo utensils with cooking oil. We also do this with the boards that we haven't used in a while. Bamboo loves and needs this procedure, you can literally watch how well the bamboo is doing to absorb the oil. With this procedure, we are already generous with the cooking oil, excess is wiped off with kitchen paper. This cheese board is a real gem. We inaugurated it on New Year's Eve, we were two people. We actually put grissini sticks in the grooves of the board. Olives in one ceramic bowl and a fig and orange dip in the other. The bowls on the board aren't that big, so we put an extra bowl with olives and the dip next to them. Still, I'm happy with the bowls on the board because they're of good quality and they stand securely in their respective troughs. We left the drawer in which the four cheese knives are located open the whole time, so you always have immediate access to the knives and the two cocktail forks, and it also looks very decorative with the drawer open. However, if you are serving more than two people, you have to add more cocktail forks. The four cheese knives all have bamboo handles and can be used to cut through different types of cheese, from hard to soft cheeses. The surface of the board for the cheese is so large that we even put grapes on it. We have absolutely nothing negative to say about this great cheese board and accessories. We are absolutely thrilled and smitten!
