I was looking for an additional heater to get the living room a little warmer without having to set the entire central heating to a higher flow temperature. That worked. The idea was to have a basic temperature of 18 degrees in the room and then top it up with infrared heating if necessary. Here the following experiment: Room approx. 18 m². Outside temperature 8 degrees, room temperature 17.5 degrees. With the infrared heater it took 1 hour to get over 20 degrees. However, the radiant energy caused a feeling of warmth even before that, since the device was set up about 2 meters away from the people. Our house is old and not well insulated. The heat goes away immediately. So that we don't all have to watch TV with gloves, I want to keep the basic temperature as low as possible next winter and always use the infrared heater to heat up when it's necessary, for example in the living room. Incidentally, the power consumption (current) of my model is 1050 watts. This is a good way to calculate how much the operation costs. For example, 3 hours would be about 3 kWh due. With our current electricity provider about 1 €. Calculated over a whole winter, a lot comes together. The heater looks nice, operates silently except for the occasional very light drag when turning. The glow sticks spread a nice light in the dark and do not dazzle. But I think it would be too bright in the bedroom. Odor. So, yes - in the beginning there was a high level of odor nuisance. I believe that production residues have evaporated. Now, after a few hours of use, I smell next to nothing. I would buy this infrared heater again at any time. It's too weak on the chest as sole heating, but definitely recommended as an additional heat source.
