Using an internal fan similar to those of classic tower fans, air coolers move the air, giving you a pleasant breeze and introducing air with a lower temperature into the environment through the evaporation of water and ice. Air coolers are equipped with a filtering system ensuring that the fan's movement triggers the evaporation process, atomising the water and ice. The hot air passes through a dust filter that acts as an air purifier, and then through an evaporative panel that triggers the evaporation process of the water or ice contained in the internal cooling pads, generating an fresh airflow.

Air coolers do not need refrigerant gases or chemical components, which pollute the environment and add to the overall cost. All they needed is simply water or ice. In general terms, the greater the power of the product, the greater the airflow rate. Before going into more detail, you should remember that the airflow rate is expressed in cubic metres, while the power is expressed in watts. The best approach from this point of view is to choose the power and air quality according to the rooms in which you want to use the cooler. From a practical point of view, the airflow rate and the power give us essential information on the capacity or, rather, the quantity of air that the cooler can regenerate in one hour.

In virtue of these characteristics, the cost of the cooler can vary quite considerably. On average, an evaporative cooler with a power of 100 watts has an airflow of about 1000 cubic metres per hour. To calculate the required airflow rate, the room's surface area must be evaluated and multiplied by the height, thus obtaining the room volume.
