After looking around a bit, I actually wanted this one. But then because of the price I ordered the Octavox 702 from the same manufacturer, now that I got this cheaper, the Octavox went back, I assumed that the drivers in the reference series were much larger. I have to disappoint here! I looked up how to specify the diameter of diaphragms, this is usually done either from edge to edge of the diaphragm, which is the hard disk in the middle, or a little more generously from the middle of the bead to the middle on the other side, because that's the area is the effective sound produced and moves. In my photos there is the membrane with ruler of the Quadral Quintas 602 for comparison, which as a 4 inch speaker is almost exactly 4 inches (the membrane with black dust cap) and the Numan reference, which is ~12.7 13cm is more of a 5 inch speaker. It's not clear to me how Numan gets to 16.5 cm (perhaps the marketing is cheating if you count the basket of the speaker, which is actually completely irrelevant to the information since it has no real influence on the size of the membrane. If I measure from the center of one bead to the center of the bead on the other side, I get just under 13 cm (equivalent to a 5 inch speaker) which is a world of difference from 16.5 cm (6.5 inches) and at most only marginally more (a few millimeters) than the Octavox 702 with a little over 12cm from the middle of the bead to the other center of the bead (approximately the diameter for both by eye) so there may be a small difference in measurement, but not 3.5cm!!! Only So, I calculate the area of the speaker, which is then responsible for the boom, (Pi x radius square) I get 13cm rounded to 143 cm^2 and 16.5 to 213cm^2!!! A huge difference in the area the oscillating body. My quadral Quintas 602 are talking about 4 inch speakers and there are also 10cm from one side of the middle of the surround to the other side. Well, as I said, it is possible to count the chassis here, i.e. the baskets with which the loudspeakers are inserted into the baffle, that could be done with that, but I find it unusual to count that, as in my opinion it deceives larger ones Speakers in front... Well, why do I still think it's a good price-performance ratio? We're still talking about cheap speakers here. For me, €100 is a lot of money, but for speakers it only really starts at €600 per pair, which means we have an entry-level model for everyone who has neither the money nor the interest to spend one. Unpacking was quite tedious, just like the Numan Octavox, they were safely placed in 2 boxes, layers of fabric and plastic film and were still protected by Styrofoam plates. I can only emphasize that shocks shouldn't affect the boxes in the packaging. In terms of accessories, there were rubber feet for the M8 threads and gloves to unpack, which I didn't need, I left them in the bag and just screwed in the feet. Gloves theme. I don't know who the targeted customer group is for which the felt gloves are designed, but they have to be really tiny. Yes, I have large hands (size 10.5) but even my sister, who has hands that are maybe half the size, can't fit her narrow fingers properly. You might think that gloves that are too big would be included here because that would help everyone, unfortunately not. So much for that topic. But regardless, as I discovered, you can also touch the speakers with your bare hands. Apart from the weight, which conveys a high level of quality, I think I have read in other reviews that sensible circuit boards are installed, which I think is great. The connection terminal at the back is well made and looks nice, both the terminal and the bass reflex tube are not plain but are designed to match the style of the entire box. I always think it's terrible when I see photos of boxes where it looks like the designer's processing time is up and all they have to do is quickly slap something on the back so that it's finished and then put the pens away (mMn are the carbon ergo 620 as an example of, although not the best, the technics sb 3610 even clearer). Back to the Numans terminal, the red/black color marking is unfortunately small and difficult to see at first glance. The baffle at the front is super stylish in piano lacquer and because the speaker grilles (optional) are attached with magnets, there are no ugly holes or bumps for the suspension at the front. EXCELLENT! But a completely shiny surface in a piano lacquer look with subtle screws that make it look technical and modern. The tweeter, which is protected by the metal perforated grille, is protected against indentations or damage. In terms of processing, I can't say much about whether my box should be B-stock or with signs of wear, but technically perfect. I only noticed a slightly crooked edge on the front baffle, but as promised, this shouldn't affect functionality. Apart from that, everything is satisfactory, no traces, the foiling fits perfectly, even when I take a closer look. I didn't take the speakers apart. The Onkyo amplifier with 2x90 watts has enough power to turn it up properly and the speakers sound very clear, quite differentiated and only in the stereo setup could it be finer, but up to very high levels the whole thing remains distortion-free. I'm attaching photos of the drivers with ruler if anyone is interested. I definitely find the boxes to be recommendable, it remains to be seen whether they will hold up over time. The review completely reflects my subjective opinion.
