Wine coolers and wine fridges are the ideal places to store wine at optimal conditions. They guarantee the perfect temperature, humidity and light, as not everyone can afford a wine cellar at home.

In these cases, the solution is to use a wine fridge or wine cooler designed specifically for wine and other drinks. Including a wine fridge cabinet or wine bottle cooler.

All our wine fridges and wine coolers ensure perfect storage conditions. They protect your precious bottles from light, maintaining a medium-low temperature between 10 and 16 C°. They also ensure constant humidity, allowing you to store your wines in horizontal positions.

Wine coolers are specialized appliances designed to store wine at optimal temperatures, preserving its flavor, aroma, and quality. Depending on storage needs, available space, and wine preferences, there are several types of wine coolers to choose from:

Single-Zone Wine Coolers

These models have one temperature zone, ideal for storing either red or white wine—but not both at their ideal temperatures. They're perfect for casual wine drinkers who primarily enjoy one type of wine.

Dual-Zone Wine Coolers

With two independently controlled temperature zones, dual-zone coolers allow you to store red and white wine separately, each at its optimal temperature. They're ideal for mixed collections and serious wine enthusiasts.

Freestanding Wine Coolers

Freestanding units can be placed anywhere with ventilation, making them versatile for kitchens, dining rooms, or cellars. They come in various sizes and are often more affordable than built-in models.

Built-In (Undercounter) Wine Coolers

Choosing the right wine cooler depends on how much wine you store, the types you prefer, and your space. Whether you're a casual sipper or a seasoned collector, there’s a wine cooler to match your lifestyle and enhance your wine experience.

Before buying a wine fridge or wine cooler you need to ask yourself: what will be its context of use? One thing is to keep a wine chiller fridge at home, for your family and some guests. Another is to use this appliance for a restaurant or a wine bar.

A wine cooler refrigerator differs significantly from conventional fridges that are found in every kitchen. It is UV protective and allows the dark storage of the bottles because the sunlight, UV radiation and even neon light damage the wine. The most important aspects of storage are temperature and climate.

With a wine fridge, this can be optimally adjusted. It also provides the required humidity of about 70%. Which prevents wine corks from drying out and protects the wine from evaporation. Similarly, a wine cooler must provide the necessary ventilation of its precious contents.

Wines should not be stored with other foods. Because the wine must be able to breathe and can also absorb the flavours of other substances through the cork. Thus, the wine cooler fridge, wine fridge cabinet or wine chiller should not be used for storing open food.

A wine fridge or wine bottle cooler is therefore equipped with special shelves in which the wine bottles are stored in a constant fixed position. The many wine cooler models on the market differ in size, price and functionality. Additionally, there is also a so-called wine tempering cabinet.

While the wine cooler is used for the permanent or long-term storage of wines and usually has several temperature zones, the tempering wine fridge is for quickly reaching an optimal serving temperature shortly before consumption.

Depending on the grape variety, the requirements for optimal storage and drinking temperature differ. Red wines, white wines, rosé wines, and champagne must be stored at different temperatures in a wine cooler.

Strong and full-bodied red wines develop their aromas between 15°C - 18°C. Whilst, white wines require a slightly lower storage temperature between 11°C - 14°C. Rosé wines are stored optimally in a wine fridge at a temperature between 7°C - 12°C. Champagne is also stored along with the wine supply, and sparkling wines require a temperature between 5°C - 7°C.

To enable the storage of different wines in a wine cooler or wine fridge, many models have several temperature zones (for example dual temperature zones). The most common is the dual-zone wine fridge. Here, red and white wine can be stored in the same fridge due to separate temperature zones within the wine fridge cabinets.

• Placement and size: Consider how many bottles you want to accommodate and where the wine cooler will ultimately be placed. You can get a wine cooler with 6 bottles, but capacities of 12 to 24 bottles are the most popular for a wine fridge or wine cooler. For professional places like restaurants, you’ll probably need a bigger wine fridge. In terms of size, there are 4 main categories: mini wine fridge (4-8 bottles), small wine fridge (8-20 bottles), medium-sized wine fridge (20-30 bottles), tall wine fridge (30-50 bottles) and professional wine cooler (50+ bottles).


• Climate class: To ensure that the wine cooler always cools reliably, the ambient temperature is also important. The climate class of a wine cooler indicates in which ambient temperature the appliance can optimally cool its contents.


• Functionality: Do you usually drink only one type of wine or do you drink different kinds of wines? For example, the dual zone wine cooler includes two adjustable cooling zones to store different types of wines. Make also sure the wine fridge protects its precious contents from the effects of UV radiation and shocks. You must be able to adjust the humidity and temperature according to your needs. The air-conditioned wine coolers are not limited to cooling but ensure that all storage parameters (including humidity) are in place. Additionally, the wine cooler fridge should have a thermometer for temperature regulation and a hygrometer for measuring the internal level of humidity.


• Consumption: There are ongoing costs for the energy consumption of the wine cooler. The better the energy efficiency class, the lower is the energy consumption per year: A and A+ classes should be preferred, even if a little more expensive. Energy efficiency classes B are also fine, whilst the purchase of wine fridges with energy efficiency classes C - G should be carefully evaluated, especially for annual consumption.


• You also have to decide if you want to have an integrated wine cooler or a freestanding wine cooler.
