Positioned horizontally, it serves as a fully functional grill grate – ideal for sausages, vegetables, or anything that tastes better over an open flame. In a diagonal position, the half-sphere becomes a wind-protected heat emitter that makes the flames visible and controls the spark flight. The spark guard on the lid keeps glowing embers safely inside the bowl.
