2585W strong heating element

Double-walled stainless steel boiler for even temperature distribution

Simple operation with only two controls

Product description

Brew your own beer! Too complicated? Far from it, with the Beerfest Mash Kettle from Klarstein easily turns anyone into a master home brewer, The most complicated part of beer production is mashing. The grist must be precisely heated and maintained at a uniform temperature over long periods of time in order to convert the starch of the grain into fermentable sugar. The process is made easy in the mash kettle.

Up to 30 litres of brewing contents can be brought to a boil in a large stainless steel bowl. Using a variable control, the required temperature can be accurately set in two-degree increments between 30 and 100 degrees Celsius. The powerful 2585W heating element brings the mash to a boil to reach the desired temperature in the blink of an eye. Two operating lights show whether the Beerfest brewing unit is heating (red light) or maintaining the temperature at the desired level (green light). Via an additional knob, you can set a timer between 10 and 120 minutes. An acoustic signal announces when the time is up and the heating element switches off. This ensures that you miss none of the important points of temperature change in making your brew. The mash boiler can also be adjusted on continuous operation.

The double-walled stainless steel bowl of the Klarstein Beerfest mash kettle helps the process in several ways: first, it provides a uniform temperature distribution so that the brew in the bottom and the upper part of the tank reach the same temperature. It also increases safety, preventing the exterior of the brewing unit from excessively heating and therefore reducing the risk of injury from accidental touches. Also, the stainless steel surface facilitates the cleaning of the inside and outside of the device after mashing. Finally, the polished exterior makes for an eye-catching device in your home brewery.

When the brew is ready, a coarse sieve and mesh hose filter help remove the grist from the mash. Via a 1/2” tap on the bottom, the brew can be drained. A lock prevents the accidental opening of the tap.

Hopfenkochen, wallend, kein Problem.

My first brew with this device and I'm delighted. If the device stays tight, imo as a microbrewer you can save yourself all the machines. Mashing and lautering (nothing burned - easy to clean) is also easy to do thanks to the tap (which is probably now included). Hop boiling, simmering, no problem. The temperature control could be a bit finer - it's either not boiling, or WALLING!!! Conclusion: The device is more fun than my old wake-up preserver, it can purify and, above all, cook very well. The drain tap gets an extra point, delivery as fast as Amazon, very well packaged. I like him - I hope he doesn't disappoint me. www.katerbräu.de

I have now brewed a good 10 brews with the Beerfset and was able to get an idea: Plus points: 1.) Thanks to the sieve supplied, you can also try BIAB. 2.) No second pot is required for a combi rest - and the Klarstein is therefore cheaper than a preserving boiler + thermoport 3.) Lautering directly from the Beerfest is possible, including subsequent pours quickly and with sufficient yield. If nothing burns, it is ready for use again in less than 5 minutes. 4.) The performance leaves nothing to be desired, the thing heats up like hell. 5.) A decent stainless steel faucet is included, which otherwise costs a lot extra. 6.) Stainless steel housing 7.) When the temperature is reached, thanks to the insulation, it keeps it when you switch it off. The thermostat is complete rubbish, below minus points: 1.) The lid is stuck and can only be locked if you push the two side brackets apart. On the other hand: After all, he can be locked at all. 2.) The bag filter was included, but clogged quickly, even with moderate hops. 3.) The drain tap is mounted improperly: The outer rubber ring is not on the housing, but 2mm away from the housing around the tap. Since the hammer has too much play at the top and too little at the bottom in the hole in the housing, the ring cannot simply be pushed in. But: It is 100% tight. 4.) The perforated plate is not fine enough. I got some burnt downstairs and had to scrub quite a bit before I could boil hops. I stretched a finer filter gauze over it, then it's no longer a problem. 5.) The temperature control doesn't work at all, it heats up to 14°C too much on average. Unfortunately not linear. Handling: Because of the burning and the insufficient temperature control, you should either stretch a filter gauze over the perforated plate, drive a combination rest or brew from another cooker (infusion). A few photos here: http://hobbybrauer.de/forum/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=6916. I am satisfied despite the mentioned shortcomings and will keep it.

Excellent quality product especially in relation to the price. The only flaw: do not insert already hot water otherwise the thermostat will block. I inserted water at 45 degrees and beyond that temperature it didn't work. In any case, it holds temperatures well and is well made.

The 2500W power brought 28l to the boil for me! 30l would also have gone, but then it spills over. The device definitely has enough power! We brewed a pale ale using the combined rest method!
